About Ron

Ronald Poltorack

In 2004, Ron Poltorack won the Sun-Sentinel.com’s Official Voice of the DolFan contest. The contest required submission of an article about the Dolphins’ game by noon the day following the game. A celebrity panel of sports media members selected the top 3 articles submitted each week. An on-line vote determined the weekly winner. Each of the weekly winners qualified to compete for the final write-off. Ron eliminated much of his competition by winning 3 of the 5 weekly contests on his way to the final write-off which he won by garnering over 55% of the vote. His prizes included his very own Voice of the Dolfan column for the rest of the 2004 season.

Ironically, Ron almost didn’t enter the contest. His lovely wife first told him about the contest and urged him to enter saying: “With your writing ability and your passion for and knowledge about the Dolphins, this contest has your name written on it.” His first reaction was that although it sounded interesting, he just didn’t have the time between being a devoted husband, a very involved father and a practicing attorney. She kept after him to do it. However, after she told their son, he pleaded with him to do it, and Ron just could not say no any longer. As soon as he said he would write the articles, his still seven-year-old son ran around the house yelling, “We’re going to be famous! We’re going to be famous!” And the rest, as they say, is history.

Ron Poltorack is a die-hard Dolfan who purchased his first season ticket as a law school graduation present for himself in 1978. Ron resides in Plantation with his lovely wife and Dolfan son. Ron is a cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, and his law firm, Ronald D. Poltorack, P.A., is located in Boca Raton, Florida.
